Hbg was awarded the contract for the construction of this mixed-use development in Broughton Gate, Milton Keynes. The complete project at £8.5m, involves both residential and commercial units, including a new CO-OP superstore, apartments, a pharmacy, and retail outlets designed to serve the local community.
Phase 1: The first phase involved the shell and core construction of a 40,000 sqft building on a previously empty brownfield site in the Broughton Gate area. Works included site stripping, traditional mass fill concrete foundations, a large steel frame package, concrete floors and stair cores, external masonry, render, and brick facings. The exterior was finished with an aluminium package, including powder-coated curtain walling and shop fronts. The roof was completed with a single-ply membrane, and external works included hard and soft landscaping.
Phase 2: Following the successful completion of Phase 1, Hbg was awarded the second phase, which focused on the fit-out of the building. This phase included the creation of residential units, ground-floor retail spaces, and first-floor commercial space. Hbg also undertook extensive external works, including soft and hard landscaping and car parking. The building now serves as a vibrant and functional mixed-use development, meeting the needs of both residential and commercial tenants.
Hbg successfully completed both phases on time and under budget, delivering a high-quality development that contributes positively to the local community.
