Hbg was appointed as the principal Design & Build contractor for the Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre, a new purpose-built facility valued at £1.8 million. The project involved a complex steel frame arrangement, pre-cast ground and first floors, and a stair installation. The external envelope was constructed with non-load bearing masonry, a one-coat spray render system, and a substantial amount of bespoke curtain walling. The building features split levels and two personnel lifts, designed to accommodate a variety of uses, including a Golf Superstore for Direct Golf UK, bars, a restaurant, commercial kitchens, a pro teaching academy, and conferencing rooms.
The external works included the creation of a new car park and a short game area to complement the centre's diverse offerings. The facility is equipped with a comfort piped heating and cooling system, ensuring a high standard of climate control for both customers and staff. This project serves as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts, business conferences, and community engagement.
